Deirdre Day

 I have done lots of things but most of them have to do with words and images.  I majored in Semiotics at Brown and moved to New York to write copy for dog biscuits and corn chips.  Unhappy that I was writing mostly about edibles, I went to NYU to study creative writing and then stayed on in school to get a doctorate in English from The CUNY- Graduate Center.  Having left all that behind, I now make art out of old books, write essays and amw ork on "The Book of Martyrs" an illustrated memoir.
